Safety
Read this before your first session

Your eyes
The light is bright. This is the part people take least seriously and the part that matters most.
- Keep your eyes closed for the whole session.
- Do not look directly into the LEDs, before, during or after.
- If the brightness feels uncomfortable through closed lids, stop and shorten your sessions.
- If you have any diagnosed eye condition, speak to your doctor before you start.
Medication that raises light sensitivity
Some medicines make skin react far more strongly to light than it normally would. Do not use the mask while you are taking them. The common ones include:
- Isotretinoin and other oral retinoids
- Several antibiotics, particularly tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones
- Some diuretics and anti-inflammatories
- St John’s wort
That list is not complete. If you take anything regularly, ask your pharmacist whether it causes photosensitivity. It takes them thirty seconds to tell you.
Check with a professional first if you
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have a diagnosed skin condition such as active eczema, psoriasis or melasma
- Have a history of skin cancer
- Have epilepsy or are sensitive to flashing or bright light
- Have had recent facial surgery, laser treatment or injectables
While you are using it
- Clean, dry skin only. No serums, oils or SPF underneath.
- Ten minutes is a full session. Longer is not better and neither is more than once a day.
- Three to five nights a week is the routine. Start with two if your skin is sensitive.
- Stop if your skin becomes red, itchy or irritated, and leave it a few days before trying again.
- Never use it on broken skin, open wounds or sunburn.
Looking after the mask
- Wipe it with a slightly damp cloth. Do not run it under a tap or submerge it.
- No alcohol, no abrasive cleaners.
- Charge it with the cable it came with. Do not use it while it is charging.
- Stop using it if the shell cracks or the cable frays.
If something goes wrong
Stop using it, and email sixthirtysupport@gmail.com with your order number and what happened. If you are having a reaction that worries you, speak to a doctor first and email us afterwards.
